In January, I was caught in a design vortex of people, product & parties as a Trend Scout with the #StyleYourSeason program in partnership with Pantone & AmericasMart. Some of the trends I saw were hits, and sadly somewhere misses. And some hit it out of the design park. And then there was light, lots of incredible light. And one particular lighting style that I have come to adore-beaded chandeliers.
These “ladies of lighting” have elegant lines which mimic more traditional riffs, but with a delicious twist- draped wooden beads or even glass. A nod to the bohemian door beads popular in the 60’s & the 70’s? Perhaps. Certainly a more sophisticated version, one that has timeless appeal and could easily work within various interior styles (the ultimate indicator of timelessness). I’ve come to look at beaded chandeliers as interior designs version of a pearl necklace, adding sophistication, elegance & classic appeal to a room.
Of course, this is the “Year of Serenity,” well…Serenity Blue. So most lighting showrooms at Market displayed a version or two in this year’s hottest color. The versatility of this pastel pigment lies in the fact that the hue reads as a neutral, albeit a very polished version.
Still not sure about the Beaded Chandelier look? These pictures will most certainly convince even the most hardened skeptic that this is a lighting style you should consider.

Such an inspired use of small space. The classic elegance of the custom upholstery is given additional visual punch through the addition of this turquoise Ro Sham Beaux chandelier.

There are many versions of beaded chandeliers on the market, at all price points. I listed some of my favorites, but you can find similar styles at retailers nationwide.
