This has to be the busiest time of year for a Designer/Blogger, at least this one. There is so much on my overloaded plate that I decided I needed to take a break today and indulge in some serious retail therapy (which I did, 2 pairs of Tory Burch espadrilles). Not to mention the fact that our neighborhood is having it’s annual garage sale this weekend.  I have made a solemn oath to Mr. B that if I don’t sell everything that is taking up 2 bays in our garage I will give it away. Well if that doesn’t just hit me where it hurts. Who needs garage space when we have a street to park on? Like most designers, our garages are for storage not for cars. To make matters worse for this closet hoarder, Mr. B. is actually taking Thursday off to make sure that everything is priced to sell. Do I trust him? Not a chance. He wants to buy a golf cart more than he appreciates all the amazing finds that I was beyond lucky to acquire over the past 13 years. He should just simply admire the fact that I have a great eye for treasures that just need a little TLC. So he better watch his back, because some bargain hunter may get a great deal on some golf clubs. Either my crystal block lamps stay, or his golf clubs will be in the hands of someone who actually plays (meow).

So while I’ve been sulking over the fact that I am going to have to part with some treasured finds…I did have something arrive in my mailbox that actually made my heart skip a few beats, and actually lifted my downtrodden spirits. Williams-Sonoma Home is back! Several years ago they closed their stores, and stopped the catalog. They did have a small sampling on the Williams-Sonoma website among the standard offering of pots and pans, but they seemed to have gone in the direction of so many other home furnishing companies, which was lights off, doors closed. Why do I love them so much? Other than the fact that some of my most favorite pieces came from the store, they also have one of the best curated collections of any catalog/online store to. The catalog literally makes you feel like you stepped into a lived in, stylish home. If you don’t get decorating ideas from the glossy pages, then you need to look again. So here are some of my favorite pages from Williams-Sonoma Home, and may I say “Well done, and welcome back”.

I’m absolutely obsessed with the rustic mix and classic coastal, that defines their collection.

“The New Traditional” look is updated for a more modern, refined look. The contemporary artwork is the perfect foil against the classic lines of the furnishings. The pops of yellow uplifts the more neutral palette.

Rusticality blended with classic lines, it’s quietly elegant with just a touch of the contemporary.

Take this interior and imagine it by the sea or in the city. This primary palette mixed with textural elements is just comfortable style at it’s very best.

I love grey, and I love yellow. So this would be my dream space, just for me…the yellow adds just the right amount of “sunny” colour pop.

A to-die-for textural offering of pillows and rugs…

This artful arrangement is just stunning. I love the mix of high and low, and similar hues. It’s the perfect example of a great tabletop display, and who ever styled it for the magazine deserves a huge raise . In fact, a copy of this picture is on my inspiration board in my office.

Just classically elegant, with a pop of pizzaz in more of the sunny yellow that is featured throughout the stunning catalog.
