It’s a brand new year, and while we usually do a year-end recap on the blog, the end of last year was truly a whirlwind. We hope everyone had a fabulous holiday, and it was one filled with family, friends, and life-long memories. As always we are so grateful for all the support from our readers around the globe, it truly inspires us every day. We continue to grow and expand reaching milestones that I never thought possible when I began blogging in 2011, and it’s all because of the amazing people who follow us.
So what’s the big announcement? We are adding to The Ace of Space. It’s called Sweet Pond Cottage.
Here’s the backstory. I grew up in Upstate New York surrounded by water, Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Black River. It provided so many great childhood memories, and I wanted the same for my daughter & family. In mid-2016 we began looking at various lakes in Georgia and South Carolina. I made it my mission, to find the perfect weekend retreat. So we looked at over 50 houses (with a very patient real estate agent).
It was our last weekend to look in the Fall before we began our search again in the Spring, and the last house our agent showed us before we drove back to Atlanta. And it was the one. Nestled in a forest, surrounded by water. It was rebuilt on a foundation of a home that was vacated in the 70’s, full of charm and possibilities.
Our view…
Sweet Pond Cottage is a blank canvas, and I’m excited to begin sharing the design process on the blog and YouTube. I am also thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with some of our favorite brands at the cottage. It’s going to be an “inspiration house” full of ideas that you’ll be able to incorporate in your home. At the end of January, we will make another announcement, revealing all our Brand Partners. We are truly so honored to have them be a part of such an incredible design journey.
We don’t have any furniture yet, but I added a few holiday touches at Christmas…
We named it Sweet Pond Cottage, after my father’s hunting camp. Sadly, my father passed away in November, I know he would have loved it there, and I know you will too. So welcome to Sweet Pond Cottage, we look forward to having you follow along!
Sweet Pond Cottage is 1400 square feet of design inspiration!
