Objects of Desire :: 3|20|15

Where has this week gone? We took a breather this week and decided not to go anywhere, time to renew and refresh (minus a quick trip to NYC). One of my goals has always been to make sure that I provide fresh content to my readers, after all I feel obligated to the legions of people that take the time to read my blog (I am incredibly grateful to all). My readers keep me motivated to continue the hunt for the best that interior design has to offer. So I started a schedule (time to get organized) and sent out a lot of emails to designers that we will be featuring throughout 2015 , then there were notes to P/R firms to set up interviews with some of the talents they represent. Plus I answered a whole lot of email from individuals who have reached out to me to see if I would be interested in featuring their products. Some of which are pretty spectacular. So here’s the thing, I receive a considerable amount of e-mail every week from artisans, creatives and companies who follow my blog. Unfortunately, while some products are pretty cool, they don’t always align with our demographics and may not be of interest to my readers. So this is what I decided, I’ll do “Objects of Desire” maybe once a week or bi-weekly and showcase some of the product that I think is noteworthy. There is simply too much design goodness in the world not to share, and I’m a firm believer that we should all support each other.

So if you have a product that you’d like to have featured in this Series, send us an e-mail. I can’t guarantee that it will make it through our editing, but we do look at every e-mail that is sent to us, and who knows? So this week, I’m highlighting some new products and companies, and some that are “tried and true.” Not all will be “Made in the USA,” because there are so many products that inspire me from all across the globe. If possible, I will give a “shout out” that so many deserve.

Next week it’s all about the garden, and I definitely have the “fever” so look for some design greatness to inspire you to live the good life outdoors. It’s Spring and time to renew and refresh with some of my “Picks.” for the week.

1\\ Ansel Chair {link}

I’m having a love affair with this Scandinavian chair covered wrapped in luxurious Tibetan fur. Of course, I don’t think that there is anything from Mitchell Gold-Bob Williams that I don’t adore…

This company offers product that leans toward modern design, but these pendant lights will translate well in any style interior. Bold & geometric…

3// Stone & Sawyer {link}

This company contacted me several weeks ago, and I simply loved their products. These handcrafted lamps are inspired by American & Scandinavian design with modernist overtones. The glazing is prepared and applied by hand in Catskill, NY and come in five colours and two styles.

Mary McDonald’s newest collection is inspired by the South Pacific.  Yes, it’s textile perfection…

One of my latest obsessions is a new offering by Cole & Sons. Palm Jungle Wallpaper is multi-layered to create a dense jungle of foliage, it’s sold in five colour-ways. My favorite is Emerald Green/ Teal.

If only I had three of these…they are modern, sculptural  and stunning.

Simon sent me the sweetest note, and I wanted to feature his products because I think they so deserve a mention. Although, he hails from Sweden, he ships worldwide. This textile designer creates works of art from shoelaces, they are crafted into pillows, rugs, & throws. Simply inspired.  In fact, click on the link to see more from this rising star.

I love using tea sets (thanks to my friend Anya) and this one has been on my radar for quite sometime. I believe I found my pot of gold thanks to Tom Dixon.

I hope you loved our picks for this week, I certainly did.
