While my blog is getting a little bit of a “Spring Spruce Up,” I have been feverishly trying to start several big projects at Casa B. I promised that I would start Phase I of Project: Masterbath along with Project:The Deck. The Masterbath is so poorly designed that we almost passed on this house even though it has the most fabulous view of the Lake (okay, it’s a very large pond). In fact, I would even say that those spaces in question are positively hideous. You’ll see the “Befores” over the next week, and I’ll be sharing the progress up to the final reveal. “Project: The Deck” is what I’m really excited about, we are expanding the footprint, enclosing it and putting on a shed roof. Mr. B has asked that I treat him like a client…are you kidding me? He is so particular (aka detail oriented) that I have no doubt he will be fired  within a matter of days by Moi´. P.S. I hope his second wife has more patience…(just a small joke in our house).

Before an afternoon off with the “Pint Size Diva” begins…(lounging at the pool).  I wanted to share the last photos of my recent trip to NYC and the corporate offices of Kravet. This tour extraordinaire was a visual feast for my tired eyes. I was honoured to get a glimpse of the creative process that goes into the design of their fabulous fabric lines (some are top secret of which I am unable to share).  Kravet has the Crème de la Crème of Interior Designers collaborating on fabric lines from the likes of Thom Felicia, Alexa Hampton, Candace Olsen, Aerin Lauder, and coming soon Sarah Richardson (which I think is a coup of indescribable magnitude). I also want to mention that the employees have to be some of the nicest and talented people that I have ever had the honour of meeting. In fact, to show you how down to “terra firma” they actually are, I sat next to Scott Kravet on a trip from the HGTV event to a cocktail party, and I showed him pictures of my daughter, the dog, my vegetable garden, chatted away about how my feet hurt and my dilemma about what to wear the next day (hey I had a captive audience, no really, he was sitting on the inside seat).  It wasn’t until we were at the cocktail reception that I found out that I sat next to one of the heirs to Kravet. Time to turn “50 Shades of Red”. So here is a glimpse into the wonderful world of Kravet.

Sarah Richardson’s fabric line for Kravet will be launched this month. Of course, blue is my favorite colour so you can imagine that I was simply star-struck by the designs that are so very Sarah.

Aerin Lauder (Estee Lauder’s granddaughter) showcasing her fabric line which will be sold exclusively through her shop located in the Hampton’s. It’s full of colour and inspired designs. I see a future visit in my future.

Some of the fabric designs are still painted by hand before printing. Stunning.

There were stacks of fabric everywhere, this was another colorway that caught my baby blues, I think color is making a much needed comeback, think of it as the new black.

Alexa Hampton is as humble as she is talented, not to mention funny. Her fabric line is simply delicious.

I would now like to announce to the world that I have a huge crush on Thom Felicia, he is a bundle of talent, personality, and a whole lot of wonderful. This is a sampling of the trim available from his fabric line…

Thom Felicia & me…wait was I saying something witty? Or perhaps sharing trade secrets? I’ll never tell.

A “pile of pretty” at Kravet. I wish I could have taken every sample home because this would be the perfect fabric scheme for an update at Casa B.

I hope you enjoyed this brief tour of Kravet Corporation in NYC. I snapped alot of photos (over a 100 in two hours) and it was just plain painful to edit down to just few to share.

As always don’t forget to visit my Pinboards on Pinterest for more design inspiration…
