Last week I hosted an incredible event with Simon Pearce at Erika Reade LTD in Atlanta, GA. If you haven’t been in Erika’s shop, you must. Her southern hospitality and keen eye have made her shop popular amongst discriminating shoppers throughout the South. From Simon Pearce glassware to fine linens, home accessories and stylish furnishings. A shoppers paradise located in the tony area of Buckhead. It was the perfect locale for an afternoon of entertaining tips showcasing Simon Pearce luxury glassware and a tablescape inspired by Autumn.
Setting the perfect backdrop for guests is something that was ingrained in me from an early age, my parents loved to entertain and my sisters and I were often enlisted to help set the tablescape. My mother was not only artistically blessed, but well-schooled in the art of etiquette. She felt that making guests feel special ensured a successful dinner party, and her tablescapes were legendary in my hometown. In the fall, she always combined elements that honored the season from found objects to unusual floral pairings. A tradition that I will honor when entertaining this season.
She also believed in using glassware and loved how it reflected the glow of candles or the colors of a tablescape. Simon Pearce glassware was not available in her time, but it is in mine. Simon Pearce has created heritage quality luxury glassware which will truly be enjoyed by my family and passed to my daughter, for generations to follow.
I wanted to share some pictures from our event with Simon Pearce showcasing select pieces from their handblown glassware collections, and our tablescape inspired by my favorite season-Autumn.
Colorful gourds in interesting shapes filled the base of the Nantucket Hurricane.
Pumpkins filled with autumnal elements such as berries, local greenery, and peach colored roses- enhance the dinnerware from Simon Pearce’s Belmont dinnerware collection. Unusual touches such as birds nests or a sprinkling of leaves on the tabletop added organic contrast to the luxury glassware.
The hand treated burnished flatware from the Woodbury Collection added“country chic” to our tablescape…
Handblown glass in shapes associated with Autumn, such as acorns, gourds and pumpkins provided a touch of elegance…
The Norwich ice bucket holds the perfect bottle of wine.
The stemware is from the Hartland collection, showcased are the flute, goblet, and white wine glass. The brilliance of the glass and “unique silhouettes” added sophistication and contrast to the tablescape.
I filled the Woodbury bowl with crabapples and golden chestnuts for autumnal color…
Tabletop arrangements brought autumnal elegance to the Belmont dinnerware collection. Miniature pumpkins made the perfect vessel for unique fall floral arrangements.
The Norwich mugs are perfect for hot or cold fall beverages poured straight from the Ascutney pitcher.
The inspired fall table…
I want to thank some truly gracious people including Erika Reade, her staff and customers of whom came out to talk tablescapes, entertaining, and Simon Pearce. If you want to see an extensive collection of Simon Pearce glassware visit Erika Reade LTD in Atlanta, GA or Simon Pearce.
