The Marvelous World of Madcap Cottage

There is a world of wit and whimsy ruled by the “Princes of Exuberant Prints” where exotic toiles, splashy florals, and stunning geometrics come together to create a place of “fantasy and far-flung glamour.” It’s a marvelous world of pattern, created by the gents of Madcap Cottage, in collaboration with Robert Allen @ Home. Dubbed “A Collector’s Eye,” this new offering to the line stems from where the first assortment left off and is designed to carry the customer willingly “to lands far afield” while channeling “the road less traveled.” A road that ultimately leads to a well-designed home.

The collection is robust providing an opportunity for all to create their own world of whimsical sophistication by playing with a variety of color, scale, and prints and mixing them in unexpected and delightful ways.

And this year, the dynamic design duo of Jason Alexander Nixon and John Locke were able to showcase their latest fabric collaboration with Robert Allen when they were asked to participate in the DJF Builders Designer Showhouse benefiting the Boys & Girls Club and serving Wake County in Raleigh, N.C.

The room they designed is fittingly named the “Rumpus Room” displaying some of the fabrics from their latest collection on select pieces from Mitchell Gold, for a mix of crisp furnishings paired with their signature blend of “traditional with a twist” design aesthetic. And behold a room born from a storyline is brought to life, “in glorious, cinematic Technicolor…”
