I finally moved into my new office, the move was intense since it involved having to walk down 2 flights of stairs with my laptop and iPhone. Luckily, I survived and I’m sitting at my new desk and now feel like a grown-up. Too many distractions in my upstairs office, so we built out the basement and I now have an office that is equipped to inspire a bit of creative genius. I wish I could show you pictures, but it’s going to be featured in magazine in the next few months about where Bloggers work. That should give me enough time to find the perfect office chair, for now I am sitting on a mohair stool borrowed from Mr. B’s “mancave.”

While I may be looking for office seating, I’m dreaming of outdoor chairs. Why? Because I’m going to a garden party tonight to meet the founder of a large brand who just launched a new line of outdoor furnishings. I haven’t seen the new product yet, but it did have me thinking about the great outdoors, and what we are going to do about it at Casa B. The winter months and our former landscape service were not kind to our plants. So it’s time to reconfigure and rethink our outdoor space, which is in dire need of an update. Since our home looks over a large pond (or a small lake?) I wanted to have a stone patio put in the back with seating that allows for outdoor entertaining, and my occasional glass of Prosecco at the end of a long day. Since so many of us take it outdoors in the summer months many furniture companies now offer some truly inspired seating. Of which, I have been carefully curating a list over the past month of some of my favorites. One of my absolute favorites is the SeaX Chair by Dedon inspired by the sleek sailing boats of the World Cup, and you’ll soon see why.

Here are some of “The Ace Picks,” for outdoor seating just in time for sweet ole summertime…

1// B & B Italia’s Canasta Chair, an open weave with octagonal cut-outs makes this a sophisticated and striking outdoor chair. Designed by Patricia Urquiola whose approach combines both traditional and contemporary lines. {source}

2// Bay Breeze Chaise Lounge by Frontgate. Bent rattan, comfy cushions makes this the perfect spot to languish the day away. Pina Colada’s anyone? {source}

3// Dolly Folding Chair by Design Public- Offered in an array of  vivid colours. This chair is both sophisticated and structural, for a more modern seating group {source}.

4// Rapson Outdoor Rocking Chair-a modern version of the Rapid Rocker by Hans Wegner, I could see this on the front porch of a mountain retreat. {source}

 5// The Klimos Classic Side Chair by Restoration Hardware, this metal version of an iconic shape lends itself to more structured outdoor spaces and is the perfect example of beauty in form. {source}

6// A wrought iron version of a Chinoiserie inspired outdoor chair by Michael Taylor would be fitting for a garden soiree. {source}

7// The SeaX Chair-Designed by Jean-Marie Moussaud for Dedon. Inspired by sleek sailing vessels this design is one of my personal favorites. The beauty of this  modern day Director’s chair is beyond perfection. {source}

8// The Cameno by Terry Hunziker. A modern riff on the classic Adirondack Chair, the stunning design is timeless.  {source}

9// The Palms Wicker Outdoor Club Chair by Thos. Baker. I love the mix of woven and metal creating a uber stylish place to lounge. {source}

10// Finn by Norm Architects via DWR. Form, function & beauty. {source}

I hope you are inspired to create an outdoor space that is timeless and stylish, and that encourages you to take advantage of the great outdoors.
