Who in the world is Charlotte Mann? Well if you live in Great Britain, you’ve probably heard of her. A former fashion designer, she creates intricate (and that is an understatement) murals on white walls turning them into impressively elaborate masterpieces. I first heard her name months ago when I was talking to a British “Expat” in our neighborhood (yes I’ve also asked him to record my office voicemail, he didn’t seem so keen anymore than Martyn Lawrence-Bullard did). We started talking about art one day, and he asked me if I’d ever heard of Charlotte Mann? (Who? Is she a designer? Blogger? Should I know her?). So upon returning to Casa B. I barely shut the front door before running (tripping over myself, and anything else in my way) to my computer to Goggle this British “Woman of Mystery.” Quite frankly I was just speechless (surprise, surprise). I doddle on paper, but this takes doodling to a whole new level. With the use of a special water based marker called the Posca Pen (non-toxic). She and her whole team create works of art that are of mind-blowing beauty.
She was the inspiration behind my idea to create something unique and personal in my daughter’s bath so that when she is luxuriating in Mr. Bubble she will be surrounded by my words of wisdom. So here is the amazing world of Charlotte Mann, and quite frankly very few words are necessary…
I hope you enjoyed this sampling of Charlotte Mann’s work, I think you’ll agree that she is a force, and of course I’ll keep you posted on my progress of drawing on the Fashionista’s wall with a Posca Pen.
